Update Model Information

Unable to edit Attributes and Operations of an element in Prolaborate

Users cannot modify the attributes and operations of elements in the Prolaborate properties window because the attributes are displayed in read-only mode, preventing any necessary changes.

To modify attributes, users can directly access and edit the element attributes through Enterprise Architect (EA) itself.

Why can’t I edit a locked package in Prolaborate?

Editing a locked package in Prolaborate may be restricted due to one or more of the following reasons:

  • The package is locked by another user in Enterprise Architect (EA).
  • Even the “admin” user in Prolaborate may not have sufficient rights to edit if permissions are not properly configured.
  • Repository access permissions or model security settings may be incorrectly set, preventing updates.

To resolve

  • Check EA Permissions: Confirm that the user has the ‘Update Element’ permission in Enterprise Architect.
  • Review Lock Status: In Prolaborate, navigate to Model Security > Package Control Lock. View the lock status of the package and determine which user holds the lock.
  • Manage Locks: Unlock the package if necessary or ask the user who applied the lock to release it.
  • Verify Prolaborate Permissions: Ensure that the user or user group has appropriate access rights configured under Access Control Profiles in Prolaborate.
