Confluence Migrator

Unable to Migrate Confluence Space

When migrating the Prolaborate information published in Confluence from the previous version using Confluence Migration, an “Error on migrating the macro data” is displayed. This can occur even if the test connection shows as successful. Several common causes include permission issues, access restrictions, or problems with your API token.

Let’s look at the steps involved in resolving this issue

Step 1: Check Permissions

Ensure you have both View and Edit access to the Confluence space where the Prolaborate information is published. Go to Space Settings > Permissions and verify your permissions.

Step 2: Ensure Access to All Pages

Manually open all pages in the space to confirm access. A single restricted or deleted page can block the migration.

Step 3: Check Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

MFA can interfere with migration. If enabled, consider disabling it temporarily or reconfiguring it.

Step 4: Regenerate the API Token

If the issue persists, regenerate your API token. Follow Atlassian’s guide on managing API tokens.

Note:

  • If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider contacting Atlassian support or your internal IT team for further assistance.
