Announcement: Discontinuation of Read-Only Licenses

As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline offerings and enhance security, we will discontinue Read-Only Licenses effective January 1, 2025. Any new licenses generated after this date will no longer support these features. Additionally, Prolaborate 5.5 and later (expected in April 2025) will no longer include Read-Only Licenses.

About Read Only License

Read-Only Licenses were introduced for Sparx Cloud Platform customers to grant read-only access to an entire model without setting individual permissions. This was intended to mitigate security risks associated with Open Community Access in a cloud-hosted environment.

Why This Change?

• Strategic Alignment – This update aligns product features with Sparx Systems Trerado’s broader vision and consolidation strategy.

• Enhanced Data Security – As model complexity increases, restricting access to authorized roles ensures better security compliance.

• Stronger Security Posture – Helps customers transition to more secure access models as per industry standards. 
• Eliminating Anonymous Access – Reduces exposure of sensitive data in cloud-hosted environments. 

Recommended Action for Read-Only Users

To ensure uninterrupted access, we recommend the following steps:

• Purchase Additional Regular Licenses – Standard user licenses will be required to maintain access. 
• Follow the License Migration Process – We will provide guidance to assist in a smooth transition.

Will current Read-Only Licenses remain functional until expiry, or will they be revoked?

Yes, they will remain functional until expiry. However, if you would like to upgrade to Prolaborate 5.5, you must choose the recommended action.
