Announcement: Open Community Access Licensing Changes 

We’ve updated our Open Community Access (OCA) licensing terms based on a management decision. These changes take effect January 1, 2025. Please review the following updates and recommended actions to ensure uninterrupted access. 

About Open Community Access (OCA)

OCA, available exclusively to On-Premises customers, allows anonymous access to an entire repository without requiring login credentials, effectively making the model publicly accessible like a wiki. 

Key Changes

• OCA Add-ons Discontinued: Starting with Prolaborate 5.5 (expected April 2025), OCA add-ons will no longer be available. 
• OCA will now only be available to customers with: 
  • Enterprise Licenses (1,500+ users) with PCS Teams Server or Enterprise 
  • Large Licenses (100+ users) with PCS Teams Server or Enterprise 

FAQs

I have a Large or Enterprise license. Am I impacted? 

No, but please ensure you have PCS Teams Server or Enterprise. 

My team has a Growing Team license (less than 100 users) and purchased an OCA add-on. What should I do? 

• Your existing add-on will continue to work with Prolaborate 5.4 until its expiry date. 
• In the next renewal cycle, you should upgrade to a Large or Enterprise edition to continue using OCA. 

My team has a Growing Team license with an OCA add-on and needs to upgrade to Prolaborate 5.5 or above. What should I do? 

Before upgrading to Prolaborate 5.5 or later, you must first initiate and complete the purchase of: 

• An upgrade to a Large or Enterprise edition of the Prolaborate license. 
• An upgrade to the Teams Server or Enterprise edition of the PCS license. 

What are the alternative options if I cannot upgrade to a Large or Enterprise license? 

• Create dashboards with public links, enabling controlled access to key model information. However, please note that this requires share counts. [Read more]
• Add additional regular licenses, then: 
  • Create dedicated user groups.
  • Assign appropriate access permissions to the user group (with read-only access). 
  • Add Users to the group.
